Seminar Description

Content in this course includes:



  • Basics of Sagittal Plane Theory Power of Motion Concepts in sagittal plane motion

  • Use of orthotics in the management of Functional Hallux Limitus (Fhl)

  • Clinical entities (hallux limitus, plantar fasciitis, posterior tibial tendonitis)

  • Anatomy and pathology of the lower back

  • Theory of chronic low back pain (CLBP) and sagittal plane restriction

  • Evaluation of leg length discrepancy both anatomical and functional

  • Practical: Manipulation of the Lower Extremity, Ankle - Cuboid - Proximal Tibia - 1st MTP joint

  • Concepts in patient assessment

  • Orthotic prescription


The days are designed to give participants ample time to digest and practice the subject matter presented


COURSE OBJECTIVES: Attendees will complete this course with a thorough understanding of:



  • Participants will gain a thorough knowledge of sagittal plane biomechanical function, its importance in gait and its relationship to many common postural pathologies including chronic low back pain (CLBP)

  • Lower limb manipulation techniques to improve orthotic prescription and patient outcomes will be learnt

These courses have been accredited with ABC, BOC and state PT associations where the workshops are being held. Certificates of completion will be provided at the end of the course. Each separate course is covered for 6.5 continuing education hours.
